A Personal Trainer for Carlton Folk Who Hate Gyms
Why people from Carlton train with us
Let's be honest: walking into a gym for the first time (or the first time in years) is intimidating. If you've been putting it off, you're not broken, you're normal. RB5 Personal Training was built exactly for people who feel that way. No egos, no pressure, no one judging what you lift or how you look doing it.
We're based in Nottingham near Old Market Square, which makes us an easy trip from Carlton, whether you drive in, hop on the bus, or fit a session around work in town. Plenty of our members come from Carlton and the surrounding areas because they wanted a personal trainer who actually gets it, not a sales pitch and a clipboard.
RB5 is run by Ricky, and the whole place works like a fitness family of real people. Some of us are just starting out, some are coming back from injury, some are chasing bigger goals. Everyone gets the same welcome.
Personal training that meets you where you are
Whether you want 1-to-1 personal training or the buzz of small or large group sessions, everything is coached properly and built around your starting point. Not the starting point of some imaginary fitness person, yours.
We work with all abilities. That includes people recovering from injury, postpartum members getting back into movement safely, and our Fitness Over 50s sessions for anyone who wants to stay strong, mobile and independent for the long haul.
If you prefer training with others, our Group Fitness Classes give you the energy of a group with coaching that still pays attention to you as an individual. It's fun, it's results-driven, and nobody is left flailing at the back.
Not sure? That's what the 30-Day Trial is for
Committing to a gym before you know whether you'll like it is a big ask, so we don't ask it. Our 30-Day Trial lets you experience how we coach, meet the members, and see whether RB5 feels right before you go all in.
Thirty days is enough time to build a bit of momentum, notice some early wins, and figure out whether we're your kind of place. No hard sell at the end, just an honest chat about what's next.
Fitting training around real life in Carlton
We're open 6am to 8pm on weekdays and 7am to 12pm on Saturdays, so you can train before work, after the school run, on your lunch break in town, or on a Saturday morning before the weekend properly kicks off.
If you commute from Carlton into Nottingham city centre anyway, we're near Old Market Square, so a session slots neatly into a day you're already having. No extra journey, no excuses required, though we promise we won't guilt-trip you either way. Making a change is genuinely hard, and we'd rather help you find a routine that actually sticks than one that looks good on paper.

Frequently asked questions
Where exactly is RB5 Personal Training, and how far is it from Carlton?
We're in Nottingham city centre, near Old Market Square. From Carlton it's a short drive or an easy bus ride into town, and lots of our members combine sessions with work or errands in the city centre.
I've never trained before and I'm nervous. Is that a problem?
Not at all, it's kind of our speciality. RB5 was built for people who feel intimidated by traditional gyms. There are no egos here, and your first sessions are about finding your starting point, not testing you.
Can you help if I'm recovering from an injury or I've recently had a baby?
Yes. We regularly work with members in injury recovery and postpartum members. Your coaching is adapted to where you are right now, and we build up safely and sensibly from there.
Is there anything for the over-50s?
Absolutely. Our Fitness Over 50s sessions are designed for staying strong, mobile and confident. You'll train alongside people at a similar stage, with coaching that respects your body without underestimating it.
How does the 30-Day Trial work?
You train with us for 30 days and experience real coaching and the RB5 community before committing. At the end we'll have an honest conversation about whether it's working for you, with no pressure either way.
