A Gym Near Kelvindale Where Women Actually Belong

Not Your Average Gym, and Proudly So

If you have ever walked into a big commercial gym and felt invisible, intimidated or completely lost, you are not alone. That feeling is exactly why Strength In Sisterhood exists. We are a female-only gym just minutes from Kelvindale, based at 26 Lochburn Rd in Maryhill, and we do things very differently.

There are no mirrors full of people posing, no confusing machines you are left to figure out alone, and absolutely no judgement. Just real coaching, real community and real results for women of all fitness levels. Whether you have never lifted a weight in your life or you are getting back into training after a break, you will fit right in here.

Small Group Personal Training, Built Around You

We specialise in small group personal training, which means you get the structure and attention of a personal trainer alongside the energy and encouragement of training with other women. Every session is coached properly, so you learn how to move well, build strength safely and actually understand what you are doing and why.

Structure and accountability are at the heart of what we do. You are not left guessing what to do when you arrive. Your coach knows your name, knows your goals and notices when you have not been in. For a lot of the women who train with us, that accountability is the thing that finally makes fitness stick.

Easy to Reach from Kelvindale

Our gym sits on Lochburn Road in Maryhill, a short hop from Kelvindale. If you live around Kelvindale, you can be through our doors in just a few minutes by car or bike, and it is an easy journey by public transport too. Being this close means training becomes something that slots into your week rather than another thing to battle traffic for.

Plenty of our members come from Kelvindale and the surrounding parts of Glasgow's West End and North West, so you will likely bump into neighbours here. That local feel is part of what makes the community so strong.

Building Confidence, Not Just Bodies

We say we are more than just a gym, and we mean it. Yes, you will get stronger and fitter. But the thing our members talk about most is the confidence they build, in the gym and outside it. Walking taller, saying yes to things, feeling capable in their own bodies.

Sisterhood is not just a name for us. It is women cheering each other on through a tough set, celebrating each other's wins and turning up for one another week after week. If you have been searching for a gym near Kelvindale where you feel supported rather than scrutinised, this is it.

Frequently asked questions

I have never trained before. Will I be out of my depth?

Not at all. Women of all fitness levels train with us, including complete beginners. Every session is coached, so you will be shown exactly what to do and everything can be scaled to where you are right now. Nobody is left to sink or swim.

Is Strength In Sisterhood really women only?

Yes, we are a female-only gym. Many of our members joined precisely because they wanted a space to train without feeling watched or judged, and that is exactly what we protect here.

How is small group personal training different from a normal gym class?

In a typical class you follow along in a big crowd with little individual attention. In our small groups, your coach knows your name, your goals and your limits, and adjusts the training to suit you. You get personal coaching with the added motivation of training alongside other women.

Where exactly are you, and how far is that from Kelvindale?

You will find us at 26 Lochburn Rd, Maryhill, Glasgow, G20 9AQ. That is just a few minutes from Kelvindale by car or bike, and easily reachable by public transport.

What if I am nervous about walking in for the first time?

That is completely normal, and honestly most of our members felt the same before their first visit. Get in touch before you come so we know to expect you, and a coach will welcome you, show you around and stay with you throughout. You will never be left standing awkwardly on your own.
