A Female-Only Gym Near Ruchill Where You Actually Belong

Not Your Typical Gym, and That Is the Point

If you have ever walked into a big commercial gym and felt invisible, intimidated or completely out of place, you are not alone. That feeling is exactly why Strength In Sisterhood exists. We are a female-only gym on Lochburn Rd in Maryhill, just minutes from Ruchill, built for women who want real coaching and real support, not rows of machines and a membership card nobody checks on.

There are no mirrors full of people posing, no confusing kit you are left to figure out alone, and absolutely no judgement. Whether you have never lifted a weight in your life or you are getting back into training after years away, you will be met where you are and coached from there.

Small Group Personal Training, Not a Free-for-All

Everything we do is built around small group personal training. That means you get the structure and attention of a personal trainer, alongside a small group of women who quickly become your biggest supporters. Every session is coached, so you are never left guessing what to do or whether you are doing it right.

Structure and accountability are what make the difference. When someone knows your name, notices when you show up and celebrates your progress, it becomes a lot harder to quit and a lot easier to keep going. That is the bit most gyms miss, and it is the bit we take most seriously.

Easy to Get to from Ruchill

You will find us at 26 Lochburn Rd, Maryhill, Glasgow, G20 9AQ. If you live in Ruchill, we are right on your doorstep, an easy walk or a very short drive away. No trekking across Glasgow, no excuses about the commute, just a gym that fits into your actual life.

Being local matters. The women who train here live nearby, in Ruchill, Maryhill and the surrounding areas, which means the community you build in the gym carries on outside it too.

Building Confidence, Not Just Bodies

Yes, you will get stronger. Yes, you will see results. But ask any of the women who train with us what has changed most and they will usually talk about confidence. Walking taller. Feeling capable. Doing things they never thought they could.

That is what sisterhood means to us. This is a space where women of all fitness levels, all shapes and all ages train side by side, cheer each other on and prove to themselves week after week that they are stronger than they thought. It is more than a gym. It is a place to belong.

How to Get Started

Starting somewhere new is the hardest part, and we know that. So we keep it simple and pressure-free. Get in touch, come and see the space, meet the coaches and the community, and find out how small group personal training works before you commit to anything.

You do not need to be fit to start. You do not need to know what you are doing. You just need to show up once, and we will take it from there together.

Frequently asked questions

Is Strength In Sisterhood really female-only?

Yes, completely. Every session, every member and the whole space is women only. It is designed to be somewhere you can train without feeling watched, judged or out of place.

I have never been to a gym before. Will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely. Small group personal training means every session is coached and every exercise can be adapted to your level. Plenty of our members started as complete beginners, and being new is never something to apologise for here.

How is this different from a normal gym membership?

At a typical gym you pay for access and you are left to figure everything out yourself. Here, every session is led by a coach, you follow a structured plan, and you train alongside a small group of women who hold you accountable and cheer you on.

Where exactly are you, and is it easy to get to from Ruchill?

We are at 26 Lochburn Rd, Maryhill, Glasgow, G20 9AQ. From Ruchill it is an easy walk or a couple of minutes by car, so getting to sessions genuinely fits around your day.

What if I am unfit or coming back after a long break?

Then you are exactly who we built this gym for. There is no expected starting point. Your coach will meet you where you are, build things up gradually and make sure you feel supported, not judged, every step of the way.
