A Female-Only Gym Near Kelvinside That Feels Like It Was Built For You
Not Your Average Gym, And Proudly So
If you have ever walked into a big commercial gym and felt invisible, intimidated or just plain out of place, you are exactly who Strength In Sisterhood was created for. We are a female-only gym just minutes from Kelvinside at 26 Lochburn Rd in Maryhill, and we do things differently. No rows of machines you are left to figure out alone. No egos. No judgement. Just real coaching, real community and real results.
Our whole approach is built around small group personal training. That means you get the structure and attention of proper coaching, alongside a small group of women who are on the same journey. You are never just a membership number here. Your coach knows your name, your goals and what you did in your last session.
Small Group Personal Training That Actually Works
Most women do not need another gym membership they never use. What actually works is structure, accountability and support, and that is exactly what our training model delivers. Every session is coached, so your technique is looked after, your programme progresses at the right pace, and you always know what to do when you walk through the door.
Whether you are completely new to training, coming back after a break or having children, or you have trained for years and want more direction, we meet you where you are. There is no minimum fitness level to join. Everything is scaled to you, and nobody is ever made to feel behind.
Easy To Reach From Kelvinside
We are based on Lochburn Road in Maryhill, G20 9AQ, which makes us a genuinely convenient gym for women in Kelvinside. You can be with us in a few minutes by car, and we are well placed if you are travelling along Maryhill Road or coming from the West End more broadly.
Plenty of our members come from Kelvinside, Maryhill, North Kelvinside and the surrounding areas, and one of the loveliest things about a local, female-only space is that you start recognising faces quickly. Sessions become something you look forward to rather than something you dread.
More Than A Gym: Confidence, Community, Belonging
Our name is not an accident. Strength In Sisterhood is about what happens when women train together in a space where nobody is judging, comparing or competing. Members cheer each other on, celebrate each other's wins and turn up for one another on the days motivation is low.
Yes, you will get stronger and fitter. But the thing our members talk about most is confidence. Confidence lifting weights you never thought you could. Confidence walking into a room. Confidence that spills into the rest of your life. We are building confidence, not just bodies, and that is the difference you feel from your very first session.

Frequently asked questions
Is Strength In Sisterhood really women only?
Yes, completely. Every member and every session is female only. It is a deliberate choice so that women of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels can train in a space that feels safe, supportive and free of judgement.
I have never trained before. Will I be able to keep up?
Absolutely. Small group personal training means every exercise is coached and scaled to your level. Many of our members had never set foot in a gym before joining. Nobody is left behind and nobody is judged, ever.
How is small group personal training different from a normal gym class?
In a typical class, everyone does the same thing regardless of ability, and the instructor rarely knows your goals. In small group personal training, groups are kept small so your coach can correct your technique, adjust exercises for you and track your progress session by session. It is personal training with the energy and cost benefits of training alongside other women.
Where exactly are you, and are you handy for Kelvinside?
We are at 26 Lochburn Rd, Maryhill, Glasgow, G20 9AQ. That puts us just a short drive from Kelvinside, and many of our members travel to us from Kelvinside and across the West End.
What if I am nervous about my first visit?
That is completely normal, and honestly it is how most of our members felt before they started. Get in touch before you come and we will talk you through exactly what to expect. From the moment you arrive you will be welcomed by your coach and the other women in your session. Most people tell us the nerves disappear within the first ten minutes.
